EDRR Weed Species-
A weed; 1. that is introduced to North America, 2. that demonstrates the capacity to form monotypic stands and/or invade sites that are of economic, aesthetic, or conservation importance in Wyoming and/or areas with in the region. 3. that is not known to be found in Wyoming except in limited and containable infestations and/or populations with the potential to be eradicated. WY protocol for new found invasive plant:
- Photograph new invader
- Record a GPS point
- Collect sample and press, send to get positive identification (ideally a trained botanist that can report the infestation to national databases).

- Area EDRR person reports to state committee
- State committee decides whether the species is an EDRR candidate and creates an EDRR alert via the weed list. The EDRR alert is also sent to neighboring states…
- Potentially alert the media via press releases through Slade’s office about new invader, if necessary.
- Rapid response, determine best mode of action for eradication and proceed with control efforts.
